Faculty and Staff Virtual Parking Permits

This virtual permit is only valid on ONE registered vehicle parked on any campus lot at any time. The virtual permit is non-transferable. Vehicles must be registered to the employee or from the same household. If more than one vehicle registered under the virtual permit is found parked on campus without the purchase of an additional daily permit, the additional vehicle(s) will be cited for Misuse of Parking Permit.

Parking Fee Increase Notice

Effective November 1, 2024, parking permit costs for all bargaining employees, MPP, C99, E99, and Auxiliary employees will increase due to approved rate changes. This adjustment is necessary to cover rising costs for maintaining parking facilities and improving services to better meet campus needs.

Types of Permits

Monthly Payroll Deduction Permit is a pre-tax permit that employees can sign up for any time of the year. Monthly deduction is based on the employee’s monthly parking rate for each bargaining unit. This permit renews automatically on an annual basis and employees must submit a request in order to stop the monthly payroll deductions and cancel the permit.

Winter 2024 Permits will be available for purchase on Monday, 12/16/2024 at 9 AM online at https://sfsu.permitinfo.net 

 

Spring 2025 Permits will be available for purchase on Monday, 01/13/2025 at 9 AM online at https://sfsu.permitinfo.net  Permit fee is based on the employee’s monthly parking rate for each bargaining unit.

 

Annual Permit (valid starting August of each year) availability will be announced. This type of permit does not renew automatically and needs to be renewed on an annual basis. Permit fee is based on the employee’s monthly parking rate for each bargaining unit.

  1. Go to https://sfsu.permitinfo.net/ and click on NEW USER and follow the directions. If you are a returning user, login to your account and request for a new permit.
    1. If you have never purchased a parking permit through the Parking Office, please email parking@sfsu.edu with the following information:
      • Name
      • SFSU ID#
      • SFSU Email
      • Bargaining Unit
  2. At the end of your purchase, please create a parking permit account login.  This is the only way to update vehicle information at any time.
  3. Once purchased, you can visit the website at any time to update your vehicle information.
  • Visit the Parking and Transportation office and sign up for the payroll deduction.  A payment for the first month will need to be made either by check or card then the following month’s permit fee will be deducted from your paycheck.
  • After signing up for payroll deduction, you will be emailed login credentials to visit https://sfsu.permitinfo.net/. Log in using the username and temporary password provided in the email.
  • Once in your account, select "Request a New Permit" and choose the "Annual Permit" (Since you are enrolled in payroll deduction, you will not be charged for the permit at the time. It will be a recurring deduction to your payroll based on your bargaining unit.)
  • After you complete the registration, you will see an active permit on your permit dashboard. 
  • You may update your vehicle information anytime on the website. 
  • To cancel payroll deduction, please send an email to parking@sfsu.edu to stop your current monthly payroll deduction.
  • Requests must be submitted by the 5th of each month to reflect on the next month’s paycheck. (ex. request turned in by April 5 will be stopped before April 28 paycheck).  Virtual permits will be deactivated on the last day of that month.
  • Requests received after the 5th of the month may still be deducted on the next paycheck but will be refunded through payroll within two-three months. Virtual permits will be deactivated on the last day of that month.
  • Please be advised that it is the responsibility of the employee to stop their payroll deduction. Per State Controller's Office there are no retroactive refunds. For further information please visit the State of California handbook.

Lot 19 Permits:

  • Lot 19 virtual permit is valid in Lots 19, 20 and 25.
  • Lot 19 is a search lot and this virtual permit does not guarantee parking.
  • This virtual permit is only valid on ONE registered vehicle parked on any campus lot at any time.
  • Virtual permit is non-transferable. Vehicles must be registered to the employee or from the same household. If more than one vehicle registered under the virtual permit is found parked on campus without the purchase of an additional daily permit, the additional vehicle(s) will be cited for Misuse of Parking Permit.
  • Virtual permits do not allow for overnight parking unless an employee requests and receives prior approval from Parking & Transportation for an official travel.
  • Refunds are issued per ABS 87-36. There are no full refunds.
  • San Francisco State University does NOT assume liability for theft, fire or damage to any vehicle or any articles left therein.  No bailment for the University is created with this virtual permit to park.

Parking privileges will be revoked for any individuals found in violation of SFSU's Parking regulations.           

Lot 6 Permit:

(Reserved Lot; Contact Parking Office for further information and availability)

  • Lot 6 virtual permit is valid in Lots 6, 19, 20, and 25.
  • This virtual permit is only valid on ONE registered vehicle parked on any campus lot at any time.
  • Virtual permit is non-transferable. Vehicles must be registered to the employee or from the same household. If more than one vehicle registered under the virtual permit is found parked on campus without the purchase of an additional daily permit, the additional vehicle(s) will be cited for Misuse of Parking Permit.
  • Virtual permits do not allow for overnight parking, unless an employee requests and receives prior approval from Parking & Transportation for an official travel.
  • Refunds are issued per ABS 87-36. There are no full refunds.

If more than one vehicle registered under the virtual permit is found parked on campus without the purchase of an additional daily permit, the additional vehicle(s) will be cited for Misuse of Parking Permit.
  • Virtual permits do not allow for overnight parking, unless an employee requests and receives prior approval from Parking & Transportation for an official travel.

Additional Reserved Parking Permits:

(6A and 19A Virtual Permits; Contact Parking Office for further information and availability)

  • The Lot 6A permit is valid on Lot 19 reserved spaces in front of the Police Department Office on North State Drive and Lots 19, 20, and 25
  • The Lot 19A permit is valid on Lot 19 reserved spaces in front of the Towers Conference Center by Seven Hills on South State Drive and Lots 19, 20, and 25.
  • Each virtual permit is only valid on ONE registered vehicle parked on any campus lot at any time.
  • Virtual permit is non-transferable. Vehicles must be registered to the employee or from the same household. If more than one vehicle registered under the virtual permit is found parked on campus without the purchase of an additional daily permit, the additional vehicle(s) will be cited for Misuse of Parking Permit.
  • Virtual permits do not allow for overnight parking, unless an employee requests and receives prior approval from Parking & Transportation for an official travel.
  • Refunds are issued per ABS 87-36. There are no full refunds.

If you have a rental, loaner, or new vehicle visit https://sfsu.permitinfo.net/

  • Log in to your account
    • If you do not remember your password, select "Forgot Password?" and enter your SFSU email address
  • Once in your account, select the active permit
  • Select "Click Here to Add a Vehicle" or select the license plate you would like to update
    • Be sure to click "Update Permit"
  • You can select the active permit to double check the vehicles are updated in your account.
