Visitor/Guest, General Public Parking

A valid daily or semester permit is required at ALL times in every lot.  After 5:00 p.m. and on weekends, all lots are open to the public.  See the parking map for the locations of each of these lots. 

Effective, June 1, 2020, the city and county of San Francisco has begun collecting the mandated 25% parking tax from all drivers who park on campus, as ordered by the California Supreme Court.  The following daily rates reflect the city and county parking tax: 

Daily Parking Permit App available.

Lot 20: General paid public, visitor/guest, student parking 

  • Located on State Dr. 

  • Hours: 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. 

  • Fee: 

  • ($5.00 + 25% Parking Tax) $6.25 for two hours. 

  • ($8.00 + 25% Parking Tax) $10.00 for the day (Daily permits expire at midnight)  

  • ($16.00 + 25% Parking Tax) $20.00 for two days (Daily permits expire at midnight)  

  • ($40.00 + 25% Parking Tax) $50 for five days (Daily permits expire at midnight)  

  •  Level 4i Orange to 4n Orange and the roof level are restricted to staff and faculty between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. 

Lot 25: General paid public, visitor/guest, student parking 

  • Located on Winston Dr.  

  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Gates close by 5:15 PM) 

  •  Fee: 

  • ($5.00 + 25% Parking Tax) $6.25 for two hours. 

  • ($8.00 + 25% Parking Tax) $10.00 for the day (Daily permits expire at midnight)  

  • ($16.00 + 25% Parking Tax) $20.00 for two days (Daily permits expire at midnight)  

  • ($40.00 + 25% Parking Tax) $50 for five days (Daily permits expire at midnight)  

Pay Stations are located on every level of the Parking Garage.  Please note that exact change is required; machines do not give change. Pay stations will accept $1, $5 and $10 bills as well as credit/debit cards and the SF State OneCard. If credit/debit card is used there is a 2.75% credit card fee 

SF State honors other CSU Faculty permits that teach on multiple campuses. Faculty must provide proof of permit before parking on campus, by emailing parking@sfsu.edu
